Adult Art Retreat @ Sacred Heart Catholic Church : Saints Icon Workshop

 “The things we Love tell Us What We are”  - St. Thomas of Acquinas

All of us are called to be saints. Did you know the word saint  appears 229 times in the bible?  We are called to be the hands and feet of the body of Christ. In this sacred art class, you will choose a saint that you would like to venerate through a ceramic art  icon image you will make. Do not worry if you can draw, just come prepared with an 8 x 10 image of your saint in both a color and black and white copy. We will work from scratch to ‘write’ the icon into clay in the first clay. In the second class, we will paint with glaze to complete the image in full. In between, the artwork will be fired twice  and returned ready to be displayed in your home or outdoor space.  The finished icon will measure about 8 x 10 in total.

Who : adults ( ages 13 and up may attend with parent)

When : August 15 & 29  from 5- 8 pm
