About the Event
En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air”, and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.
In this workshop designed for teens ( 13 and up), we will work on a painting in plein air starting at Burroughs Park ( 9738 Hufsmith Rd, Tomball, TX 77375) near the duck pond for the first class and schedule an optional second painting workshop in my studio ( Greg”s Grage Maker Studio : 23820 Lenze Rd Building C Spring, TX 77389)
In this class, we will touch on composition, color mixing, color balance, and atmospheric perspective as we begin one painting in 2 hours. Students will work in acrylic media. $25 covers all supplies and instruction. An optional second workshop will be designed for 4/ 28
This class is very weather dependent so if weather looks sour, we will alter our location prior to the first class.
