About the Event
En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air”, and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.
In this 2 class workshop designed for teens ( 13 and up), we will work on a painting in plein air starting at Burroughs Park ( 9738 Hufsmith Rd, Tomball, TX 77375) near the duck pond for the first class and finishing the painting in my studio ( Greg”s Grage Maker Studio : 23820 Lenze Rd Building C Spring, TX 77389 for the second class)
In this class, we will touch on composition, color mixing, color balance, and atmospheric perspective as we create one painting in 4 hours.. Students will work in acrylic media. $55 covers all supplies and instruction. 10 % siblings or multiple family members.
This class is very weather dependent so if weather looks sour, we will alter our location prior to the first class. ( tickets sold only for 3/17/23- this is the second class of this two part workshop)
